The leaves change, the wind blows, the days get shorter, and everything smells and tastes like pumpkin spice, which could only mean one thing: autumn has finally arrived. Although nostalgia for the end of summer can make it difficult to accept the change of seasons with open arms, there is no reason to worry, once we tell you the spiritual meaning of the equinox and how you can work with the autumn energy, you will understand how revitalizing this astronomical event can be.
What is the spiritual significance of the autumnal equinox?

On September 23 we welcomed one of the most anticipated seasons of the year, the one in which you can wear beautiful, knitted sweaters and drink a hot chocolate while watching the leaves fall, that’s how we talk about autumn, but more than its comfort and aesthetics, autumn has a great spiritual meaning.
According to the Farmer’s Almanac, an equinox occurs when the center of the Sun crosses what is considered Earth’s equator from space, ushering in autumn.
Simply put, the autumnal equinox is balance, which represents the harmony between light and dark, and encourages us to seek balance in our own lives, finding the middle way between extremes. It is a perfect opportunity for inner growth, letting go of what no longer serves us, and embracing change with an open heart.
How to work with autumn energy

To connect in nature, what is better than a meditation session under the stars?
We recommend you relax in a field away from the city lights and meditate to immerse yourself in your mind clearing your mind and resting your body.
But if you want to take advantage of the magical energy of autumn, we leave you a couple of rituals that you can do to receive this season in the best way.
Meditate and visualize

As you meditate, ask the universe to refresh your energy, and visualize yourself as if you begin to shed skin to a new one, one that will help you navigate the fall season and protect you from strong winds. Once you finish your viewing session thank the universe.
Connect with nature

If you have access to a forest, park, or green area now is the time to connect with Mother Nature.
As you walk among the trees, let the sights, sounds, and scents of the forest envelop you, choose a tree or plant that resonates with you, and spend time in silent meditation, seeking guidance from the tree’s spirit, or connecting with its energy.
Have a tea

To perform this ritual you will need:
- 2 cups of milk of your choice
- 2 black tea bags (optional)
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 3 tablespoons of the sweetener of your choice.
Note: During the preparation, it is important that you have your intentions clear, as we discussed earlier, think of a new awakening, a new page in your book of life, and give thanks for everything that has been cultivated and what is about to perish and flourish.
Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium-high heat, until it begins to bubble around the edges of the pan.
Add the 2 tea bags to the hot milk pot. Wait 3 to 5 minutes for the tea to steep, then remove the bags.
Add the cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and sweetener. Beat to combine, stirring over medium heat, until the mixture is very hot and ready to serve.
While you drink your blend, take the opportunity to relax your body and let this concoction cleanse your aura and put you in tune with the energy of autumn.
